Hi everyone,
Yesterday (the 13th) I attended the first assembly of the still somewhat new Democratic Tech Alliance (DTA), over at the European Parliament.
The DTA is a political/think tank/civil society/industry initiative that hopes to foster a tech-ecosystem on which we can continue to run our European democracies. Because it is not looking that good.
I wrote up what I learned during my visit, which includes how important it will be to expand our digital autonomy discussion to actual people that have to make it happen: government ministers, heads of IT, system administrators, developers.
And actual end-users as well, who will have to accept a certain amount of friction as we move vital (government) systems away from US control.
Do read on for the full report, which includes some hints of optimism: The First Democratic Tech Alliance Assembly.
Cheers,
Bert
