Your Excellency,

During its meeting on 2 July 2009, the standing committee on Foreign
Affairs discussed its intention to organise a working visit to China.
Though the postponement of this working visit was regretted, the members
of the committee expressed their appreciation of your continued
willingness to facilitate a visit. 

In the past few years there have been a number of occasions to meet with
Chinese Members of Parliament or high ranking officials. Furthermore,
you yourself also maintain close links with our House of
Representatives. The members of the standing committee on Foreign
Affairs highly value these meetings and they underline the importance of
a continued dialogue. In that context, Members of the National
Peoples’ Congress or Chinese officials are always a welcome guest in
our Parliament. 

On behalf of the committee on Foreign Affairs, I look forward to a
continued close cooperation.
